Bottom Left & Right: On the road between Lilongwe and Blantyre. Very typical sub-saharan African scenes. Great scenery, not much money. However compared with further south (Swaziland/RSA) I’ve been impressed by the number of brick buildings. Those recently painted bright red sell $3 top up credits for one of the big mobile phone companies. Top right: I’ve heard it said that there are no shortages in Africa, as long as you have the money. Prices in the supermarkets are much the same as in Oz. I have been told though that when there is a currency crisis the shelves empty.
